The Event held at Lakes College; an inter college skills competition involved all four regional colleges, Lakes, Carlisle, Kendal and Furness.

The Construction trades included were bricklaying which George Lattimer was asked to help judge, other trades on the day were Joinery, Plumbing, Painting and Decorating and Electrical Installation. Each college was allowed to enter 2 competitors from full time courses that were given a challenging skills test relating to their trade.

The day allowed students from the 4 colleges to get a feel for competitions as some of the competitors will be going on to compete in the North West regional skills build competition in June which will be hosted again by Lakes College.

Lattimers Homes’ George Lattimer said: ‘’the outstanding workmanship which was judged on the day was superb’’. George was also joined on the judging panel by Richard Walker (Walkers, Cockermouth) who was taken aback by what he seen the lads achieve. It was the first time they has been in the new skills centre and said the facility was excellent for Cumbria, they were made very welcome by all.

Lattimer Homes would like to congratulate the winners of the brick work section: 1st Adam Rogers (Lakes) 2nd William McKenzie (Lakes) 3rd Nikki Graham (Carlisle).
