We’ve Got The Best Site Manager In Britain!

Congratulations to our site manager Shaun Forrester who was named the best in Britain after beating thousands of competitors to win a top national award.

Shaun, who has worked for us for nearly 20 years, was a 2015 UK Supreme Champion in the annual Pride in the Job awards held by the National House Building Council (NHBC).

Judges in the Single Home Builder category were impressed by the standard of work when they visited a magnificent five-bedroom detached house on our historic Greensyke development at Cumdivock near Dalston.

Shaun, 42, received his award at a black tie gala ceremony in London, hosted by comedian John Bishop and attended by more than 800 people including VIPs from the house-building industry.

Shaun, who is currently based at our apartments and shops project at the former Co-op store in Dalston, overcame 15,000 other site managers to triumph. He was the only UK Supreme Champion from Cumbria. He said: “It’s a fantastic honour for me to win this award for the first time, but of course it wouldn’t be possible without the support of all our team at JJ Lattimer and the attention to detail that everyone gives on every job.”

The NHBC is the UK’s leading warranty provider and standards-setter for new-build homes. Its Pride in the Job awards are made after independent experts identify exceptional standards on site, from management to craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

Mike Quinton, the NHBC’s chief executive, said: “Shaun should be incredibly proud of his win. Our champions beat an incredible number of others to win the title and he can justifiably claim to be among the best in the business, knowing that the homes he builds are of the highest quality.”

Our company director George Lattimer was a runner-up at this year’s awards, having previously won national Pride in the Job titles a record nine times. George said: “Shaun is a worthy winner and with Craig Wilson (another of our site managers) receiving a Pride in the Job Seal of Excellence for our site at Upton Cottages, Caldbeck, it shows the depth of quality we have.”

A Pride in the Job award is the highest building industry accolade a site manager can receive. Now in its 34th year, it is the only UK-wide competition for site managers who achieve the best standards in house-building. Most importantly, homeowners who buy a Pride in the Job award-winning home know they benefit from a top-quality product.
